Description: Long and box-shaped, most often carved in stone, with an opening on the top and a lid.

Ornaments: Depends on the social class of the owner ; they are generally devoid of decoration if the owner is from a lower class, and decorated if he is one of the rich and noble.

Some models bear reliefs of various types, geometric, plant or animal shapes, or scenes inspired from legends and beliefs. In many cases, they bear inscriptions. The lid can also be simple or decorated.
