There are many types of jewelry depending on their shapes and uses. These include for example pins, bracelets, earrings, and other jewelry, their types and shapes vary from a period to another.

Materials: can be made of a simple or a composite material, most used metals and materials are gold, silver, bronze or lead, in addition to other secondary materials such as glass and pottery; and organic materials like ivory and bones.

Ornaments: contain geometric, plant, or animal motifs, inscriptions, or encrusted with precious stones.

Colors: monochrome and multicolored.

Period: prehistoric period, ancient periods, Islamic periods.

Bracelets

Description : Can be a single rigid loop, or connected beads, a flexible band, or an incomplete circle. 

Earrings

Description: Come in a variety of shapes, like small or large loops, studs, large plates, and dangling items.

Brooches & Decorative Pins

Description: Also known as fibulae. They are decorative items designed to be attached to garments. It usually has a geometric, floral, or animal shape.

Rings

Description: Hollow circular or oval shape, in the form of a closed or open circle. It can be simple or decorated with stones. In some cases, rings serve as seals.

Pendants

Description: A hanging piece, generally attached by a small loop to a necklace.

There are many types of pendants, the most common are amulets (come in many forms), and medallions (coin-shaped pieces of metal, pierced or connected to a small loop), or pierced shells, stones, or bones.

Necklaces

Description: A flexible chain, or connected beads that wrap around the neck. Usually has additional attachments suspended or inserted into it (a pendant).

Hairpins

Description: It consists of a head and a body, the head usually has the shape of a human head or a geometric shape, etc., while the body appears straight and pointed at its end. As for the materials used, they often consist of minerals or organic materials such as bone or ivory.
